Centrum Tance (Dance Center)

A dance school founded in 1997 as a Center of Oriental Dancing (Centrum Orientálního Tance). Since 2006 the offer was extended to more than 20 dancing styles and the school started to use the brand name Dance Center (Centrum Tance). At present, the dance is being taught at more than 70 places in the whole Czech Republic. The main offer is created by semestral dance classes, but thematic seminars, competitions, weekend trips, holidays with dance lessons or social and cultural events are also held. The center cooperates with a list of both Czech and foreign dance schools and regularly invites dancers and tutors from abroad. The center tutors and former students perform in diverse cultural and social events, regularly undergo trainings abroad and successfully take part both in local and foreign competitions. To support the quality of the Oriental dancing, in 2009 a retraining scheme called Oriental Dance Tutor (Lektor orientálního tance) was launched, which is currently attended by about 40 dancers. Some of the most important cultural events held by the center are: the competition for amateur dancers MISS ORIENT (since 2005) www.missorient.cz, the international dancing Let´s Dance Prague International Festival (since 2006) www.letsdance.cz and the winter dance festival Dance of Love (since 2009) www.danceoflove.cz.
