The Faculty of Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy of the University of West Bohemia is one of the most significant faculties of philosophy in the Czech Republic. The main characteristic is an inter-major approach that allows development of both traditional and modern majors inside ten departments. The emphasis put on the topics of modern and postmodern society makes the faculty a relevant and acknowledged academical center that provides its student with a possibility to gain quality education and active interactions with social and science life. The areas of interest of the faculty are: anthropology and history, archaeology, Near East studies, foreign languages, philosophy, politics and international relations and sociology.
